Commissioning Manager (MEP) - Data Centres

About the role

An experienced Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning Manager is sought to support the delivery of large-scale data centre projects in Melbourne. The role oversees the full commissioning process, from planning through to handover, ensuring all critical infrastructure systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute the commissioning of data centre mechanical and electrical systems
• Ensure all systems meet design requirements, performance standards and safety regulations
• Manage multiple projects at once, working with engineering teams, contractors, vendors and clients
• Implement quality assurance and documentation procedures, including inspections, testing and reporting
• Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning
• Support and train operations and maintenance staff
• Review commissioning practices and apply emerging industry standards

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (Advanced Diploma or trade certification in HVAC, refrigeration or electrical)
• Proven experience in data centre or large-scale infrastructure commissioning
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in mission-critical environments
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to coordinate diverse project teams

Required skills

• Familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines is highly regarded
