Commissioning Lead - Water

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a senior Commissioning Lead to drive the commissioning, start‑up and performance testing of large‑scale water treatment assets, including desalination and wastewater facilities, across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute commissioning, start‑up and performance testing of water treatment plants.
• Apply process engineering expertise to optimise membrane efficiency, energy use and water quality.
• Coordinate MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) commissioning activities.
• Work with SCADA/DCS systems for logic testing, loop tuning, alarm rationalisation and optimisation.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis during early operations.
• Support Site Acceptance Testing, performance validation and project handover.
• Prepare and review commissioning procedures, reports and operating documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance teams during ramp‑up.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commissioning and start‑up of large‑scale desalination or wastewater treatment projects.
• Strong background in process engineering and water treatment technologies.
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering, construction, automation and operations teams.
• Senior‑level professional comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams.
