Commis Chef - Full Time

About the role

Port Macquarie Panthers is looking for a full-time Commis Chef to join its kitchen team. The role suits an enthusiastic emerging chef who wants to develop culinary skills alongside an experienced and supportive team, learning industry best practice in food safety, quality and kitchen organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Food preparation, presentation and service to members and guests
• Catering for functions and various events
• Stock management, including stock takes and recording wastage
• Accepting food deliveries, checking stock and ensuring safe storage of products
• Cleaning the kitchen area so it stays well presented
• Practise compliant food health and safety, using safe storage and FIFO principles

Required profile

• At least 2-3 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment
• Commercial Cookery Trade Qualification
• Previous function catering experience
• Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and carrying kitchen items
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
