Commis Chef – Breakfast (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our breakfast team at Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery. Working alongside experienced chefs, you will help deliver a high‑quality breakfast experience for our guests in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
• Assist with daily mise en place, stock rotation, deliveries and stock control.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well‑stocked workstation and follow food safety, hygiene and storage procedures.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient breakfast service.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for cooking and interest in developing culinary skills.
• Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel or busy breakfast environment.
• Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent experience.
• Availability for early 5:30 am starts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Reliable transport to reach the hotel for early shifts.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards.
• Good organisation, attention to detail and ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
