Commercial Specialist

About the role

KBR is seeking a Commercial Specialist to support a key utilities infrastructure project in Adelaide. The role involves providing commercial and contractual support across the project lifecycle, working closely with procurement, finance, legal and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of commercial and contracting strategies.
• Administer contractual matters including variations, claims, extensions of time and subcontract management.
• Monitor and report on commercial performance, budgets, forecasts, cash flow and risk exposure.
• Prepare, review and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
• Assist project teams with contractual interpretation and commercial processes.
• Prepare contractual correspondence, notices and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to change management, risk identification and opportunity management.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, legal and project teams to ensure commercial alignment.
• Support preparation of commercial reports and project reviews.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Finance, Management or related discipline.
• 3+ years experience in commercial, contracts, project controls, procurement or contract administration.
• Experience in infrastructure, utilities, engineering consulting, construction or major projects.
• Understanding of contract administration principles and commercial risk management.
• Exposure to managing variations, contractual notices, claims or subcontract administration.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience in utilities, energy, water or broader infrastructure sectors is highly regarded.
