Commercial Services Officer – CASPO

About the role

The Commercial Services Officer will support the Air Warfare System Project Office (CASPO) in delivering procurement and contract activities for projects such as Ghost Bat (MQ28) and other autonomous platforms. Based at RAAF Base Amberley, the role works closely with Air Force, civilian stakeholders and internal commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support commercial elements of the capability lifecycle, including procurement planning, tendering, contract formation, management and closure.
• Provide advice on procurement policy, legal, financial and technical matters to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Materiel Procurement Branch, Defence Finance, Defence Legal and other entities to manage risk and performance.
• Respond to complex enquiries, draft procurement schedules, Smart Buyer documentation, IP analyses and liability risk assessments.

Required profile

• Active NV1 security clearance.
• Experience in defence procurement, contract management and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and prioritize changing demands.

Required skills

• Strong written communication and defence‑specific documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Commonwealth procurement, conflict of interest and probity policies.
