Commercial Property Claims Consultant

About the role

Gallagher Bassett is looking for an experienced Commercial Property Claims Consultant to join its Brisbane team. The role requires end-to-end claims experience and a customer-centred approach to complex claims, working within a collaborative team. It is based in the Brisbane CBD office on a permanent full-time basis, with flexible hybrid working arrangements to be agreed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end claims for client accounts nationally, including fire and peril, business interruption, reinsurance and property damage claims for commercial insurers
• Interpret commercial insurance policy wording and apply it accurately
• Settle claims proactively within client service instructions, company guidelines and delegated authority
• Build and develop internal and external business relationships so client expectations are met and exceeded
• Achieve the daily productivity level set by management
• Comply with legislation such as the General Insurance Code of Practice and other regulations and policy requirements
• Resolve complaints in line with legislation and company guidelines
• Identify process improvement opportunities and potential fraud or recovery indicators, and pursue recovery where applicable

Required profile

• End-to-end commercial property experience handling ISR and Business Pack claims
• Motor claims experience is advantageous due to possible crossover in the portfolio
• Excellent customer service skills and a high attention to detail
• Well-rounded communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management and organisational skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment
