Combat Systems Sustainment Officer

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Combat Systems Sustainment Officer for its Combat Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) on the Collins Class Combat System. The role reports directly to the Operations Lead and ensures that the components installed as part of the Combat System are sustained and maintained in line with best practice, working with internal and external customers. It is based in McGrath, Western Australia, and is advertised as a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice for Combat System component queries.
• Support obsolescence triage, including technical and alternative part investigations and recommendations.
• Raise Defective Material Design Reports (DMDR) for components needing engineering changes or affecting sustainment.
• Coordinate Life of Type Buy analysis and recommendations.
• Carry out root cause analyses as required and review FRACAs data.
• Plan and recommend maintenance and repair activities, including preventative maintenance for Combat Systems in service.
• Support No Fault Found (NFF) activities where required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or Certificate III in a relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Experience in an engineering environment is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in a Defence environment is desirable.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.

• Introductory knowledge of Systems Engineering.
• Ability to contribute to project milestones.
