CloudOps Engineering Lead

About the role

We are looking for a proactive CloudOps Engineering Lead to own the production support of our AWS environment, drive platform improvements, and mentor a growing CloudOps team. The role sits at the intersection of operations, architecture, and leadership, helping to align cloud strategy with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage a team of CloudOps Engineers, conducting 1‑on‑1s, performance reviews and career development.
• Define and enforce CloudOps standards, processes and best practices across the organization.
• Own sprint planning, workload prioritisation and on‑call rotation for critical incidents.
• Design, review and maintain AWS architectures that follow the Well‑Architected Framework.
• Monitor system health with CloudWatch, New Relic or similar tools and drive incident resolution.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable cloud deployments.
• Manage capacity planning, cost optimisation and resource provisioning.
• Collaborate with development, security and DevOps teams on cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑availability environment.
