Clinical Director - Kilcoy Hospital and Woodford Corrections Health Service

About the role

The Clinical Director is a senior medical leadership position covering Kilcoy Hospital and Woodford Corrections Health Service. As part of the senior management team, the role leads the delivery of high-quality medical services for specialist Rural Generalists, General Practitioners and other specialists working in emergency, urgent care, rural acute and custodial settings. It also involves influencing the development of healthcare services, including the future Youth Detention Service, and strengthening accredited medical training programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and clinical leadership for medical services, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical governance frameworks, quality improvement initiatives, clinical outcome measures and patient safety programs.
• Drive workforce development by establishing and strengthening medical education, training and accreditation programs for junior doctors, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage operational and workforce responsibilities, including recruitment, performance development, rostering, staff wellbeing and human resource management practices.
• Build relationships with multidisciplinary teams, primary care providers, health services and external stakeholders to support sustainable models of care.
