Client-Side Project Manager

About the role

A growing client-side project management consultancy with an established presence in the Canberra market is looking for an experienced Client-Side Project Manager. The role manages projects from early planning and procurement through to delivery and handover, working closely with government clients, consultants and contractors so that projects meet client objectives, budgets and programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client-side projects from feasibility and planning through to delivery and handover.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors and government stakeholders.
• Oversee project budgets, programmes, procurement, risks and variations.
• Represent the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress, quality and commercial performance.
• Prepare project reports and update clients and senior stakeholders.
• Manage project risks and resolve delivery challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years' experience in client-side project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience with government, Defence, infrastructure, health, education or commercial projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Understanding of project budgets, programmes, procurement and risk management.
• Ability to coordinate consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver successful project outcomes.
