Claims Manager – Liability Claims

About the role

Troocoo is recruiting, on behalf of a well-respected Queensland insurer, an experienced Claims Manager for its liability-focused claims function. The insurer is undergoing a significant transformation and is investing in its people, making this an ideal time to join. The role leads a team of five to six Claims Leaders and sits in the CBD and inner suburbs of Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of five to six Claims Leaders, focusing on coaching and developing them so they can get the best from their teams
• Translate business decisions into clear direction for the leaders to take back to their teams
• Build a high-performing culture and help leaders guide their teams through change
• Engage directly with employers and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
• Use data and insights to drive performance and identify where to focus next
• Contribute to strategy across the claims function

Required profile

• Proven experience leading team leaders or managers, ideally across multiple teams
• A background in workers compensation, personal injury, liability or claims management within a large insurer, scheme or organisation; government backgrounds with strong commercial exposure are also considered
• A track record of leading teams through significant change and managing change fatigue
• A commercial, performance-focused mindset balanced with genuine empathy for people and customers
• Confidence engaging with employers and senior stakeholders
