Claims Consultant – Workers Compensation

About the role

The Claims Consultant will join NAB’s Worker’s Compensation team within Health, Safety and Wellbeing. Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, you will support self‑insured workplaces by managing workers‑compensation claims in line with the SRC Act and NAB’s licence obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage workers‑compensation claims accurately and deliver timely outcomes for injured employees.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Apply the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 to all claim decisions.
• Utilise claims‑management frameworks, systems and processes to drive quality outcomes.
• Provide strategic advice and support to colleagues handling complex cases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in workers‑compensation claims management for self‑insured workplaces, preferably within the Comcare scheme.
• Demonstrated empathy, resilience and sound judgement in handling claims.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Understanding of effective planning, coordination and review methods.
• Tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Legal or Business‑related discipline is desirable.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of the SRC Act and related claims‑management processes.
