Civil Worker - Car Park Upgrades, Mackay

About the role

WorkPac is recruiting skilled civil workers for a local Mackay project involving car park upgrades in Ooralea. The roster is Monday to Friday, 10-hour days, with no FIFO or DIDO required. Pay is $40-$50 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Skilled labourer: assist with site preparation, ground levelling and shovelling, and help the construction crew complete works efficiently.
• Excavator operator: dig pits, trenches and foundations, load trucks and move spoil, and carry out bulk earthworks and site preparation.
• Complete batter and slope trimming, and assist with drainage, stormwater and culvert installation.
• Work safely around existing underground services and carry out general civil excavation and site clean-up.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience operating skid steers, rollers or HR trucks with general labouring, or previous excavator operating experience.
• Previous civil construction or urban project experience.
• Construction Card (White/Blue Card) and right to work in Australia.
• Current driver's licence and ability to pass drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment medical.

Required skills

• Ability to read plans, levels and grades.
• Strong understanding of civil construction processes.
• Skid Steer, Roller or HR licence experience highly desirable; GPS and Final Trim experience highly regarded for excavator operators.
