Civil Leading Hand – Pit & Pipe

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to oversee the installation of underground pit and pipe systems on construction sites. The role involves operating excavators, interpreting site plans, and coordinating daily site activities to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Install underground pit and pipe systems.
• Operate excavators on civil construction sites.
• Read and work to site plans and drawings.
• Coordinate and progress day‑to‑day site works.
• Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain site momentum with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Excavator ticket (essential).
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Ability to read and interpret site plans confidently.
• Solid civil construction experience, specifically pit & pipe.
• Strong understanding of site safety requirements (SWMS, inductions, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and take charge of site tasks.
• Strong communication skills and proactive, can‑do attitude.
• Reliable, punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Current driver’s licence.
