Civil Engineer – Urban Development

About the role

Egis Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Urban Development team in Canberra. You will be responsible for delivering design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects, contributing to smarter, sustainable cities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and manage civil and infrastructure designs for greenfield and brownfield redevelopment projects.
• Design major and minor drainage systems, applying hydrological principles and water‑management treatments.
• Produce water and sewer designs in line with MRWA standards and prepare related servicing reports.
• Collaborate with the Urban Development team, sub‑consultants, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience in a consultancy, preferably on ACT land‑development projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and a valid full driver’s licence.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stay within budget and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 12D and AutoCAD for multidisciplinary design.
• Strong knowledge of civil design principles for storm water, sewer, hydraulics, flood modelling and road infrastructure.
