City Manager – Perth

About the role

Resident Advisor is looking for a City Manager in Perth to act as the local hub for its global content network. You will keep the platform’s event, venue and artist information up‑to‑date, shape editorial coverage and connect the electronic music community with RA’s audience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate event listings, venue pages and artist profiles for Perth.
• Identify and pitch local parties, artists and stories to RA formats such as RA Picks, Local News, This Week’s New Music, Mix of the Day and social channels.
• Build and sustain relationships with promoters, venues and community members, acting as RA’s trusted point of contact on the ground.
• Monitor the scene for commercial opportunities, including potential ticketing partnerships, and relay them to the wider RA team.
• Enrich the platform with new listings and editorial ideas that reflect the evolving Perth electronic music landscape.

Required profile

• Deep familiarity with Perth’s electronic music scene and its key venues, artists and promoters.
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to spot compelling stories.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently as a freelance consultant.

Required skills

What we offer

• Freelance contract for 12 months, with a baseline of 20 hours per month (up to 40 hours).
• Monthly fee of $620 AUD plus superannuation at the applicable rate.
