Chief Radiographer, Rural and Regional Health Services

About the role

Hunter New England Imaging is recruiting a Chief Radiographer for its Rural and Regional Health Services, based at Tamworth Hospital. As part of the HNEI Executive Team, you will drive strategic direction, strengthen imaging services and empower teams across the Hunter New England Local Health District, helping rural and regional communities access high-quality imaging and patient care. The position is permanent full time, 35 hours per week, classified as Radiographer Level 6 Grade 3.

Required profile

• Extensive clinical practice in an imaging department (excluding PDY/NPDP/Supervised Practitioner/Undergraduate).
• Proven leadership, people management and operational skills, with experience working across multiple sites.
• Ability to build relationships, lead change and use data to improve services and workforce planning.
• Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence (or equivalent) and willingness to travel for work, which may involve long-distance driving.
• Australian citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or a New Zealand passport; temporary visa holders may only be offered employment if no suitable local candidate is found.

Selection criteria

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including private third-party imaging providers.
• Demonstrated ability to work clinically as a radiographer and/or sonographer with a volume and mix of workload sufficient for skill maintenance and workforce support.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and apply a range of options to develop solutions.
