Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will report directly to the CEO and act as second‑in‑command of a leading independent supply chain and infrastructure business operating across Australia. This executive will own end‑to‑end operations, overseeing import terminals, bulk storage, logistics, transport, retail infrastructure, maintenance services and major capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and optimise a multi‑site, asset‑intensive operation with full P&L accountability.
• Drive performance, efficiency and continuous improvement across all operational functions.
• Execute growth strategy, manage infrastructure expansion and capital project delivery.
• Champion technology adoption, process innovation and safety‑first culture.
• Collaborate with the executive team to align commercial outcomes with operational excellence.

Required profile

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in logistics, infrastructure, industrial operations or similar asset‑intensive environments.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale, multi‑site operations and significant asset portfolios.
• Full P&L responsibility and strong commercial acumen.
• Experience delivering major capital projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Deep understanding of governance, risk and regulatory compliance.
• People‑focused leader capable of building high‑performing, accountable teams.
