About the role
Join the Queensland Fire Department as its Chief Information Officer, leading the Information and Technology Directorate. You will shape the ICT strategy, oversee transformation programmes and ensure technology services support the department’s critical emergency‑response operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all ICT services, solutions and investments across the department.
- Manage the operational and financial performance of the directorate, including budgeting, staffing and resource allocation.
- Oversee governance, portfolio management, project delivery and assurance activities to align with Queensland Government policies.
- Lead the design, implementation and delivery of integrated technology solutions that enhance organisational capability and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, corporate‑governance and security requirements.
- Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the agency.
Required profile
- 5+ years of senior ICT leadership or management experience, preferably in a public‑sector environment.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex budgets and multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and change‑management capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience delivering large‑scale transformation programmes.
