CG FX Lead

About the role

Flying Bark Productions is seeking a CG FX Lead to drive the visual effects for its upcoming animated series and feature films. The role works closely with Creative Supervisors to define the look and animation of FX and to ensure high‑quality delivery across projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ghostbusters, and Stranger Things.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Creative Supervisors to establish the visual FX style for each series.
• Lead the creation of scene‑specific and reusable 3D effects that meet creative standards.
• Mentor and manage the effects crew, conducting regular performance reviews.
• Review daily work, provide feedback, and maintain technical and artistic quality.
• Build and maintain an effects library to promote consistency and efficiency.
• Develop workflows and techniques to meet creative requirements and production deadlines.
• Coordinate with Production Coordinators to track shot status and prepare shots for Animation Supervisors.
• Perform look‑development, generate caches for Katana, Maya, Houdini and Nuke, and render show‑compatible elements.

Required skills

• Production of effects using Maya.
• Proficiency in Houdini.
• Experience compositing in Nuke.
• Knowledge of Katana for rendering.
