Catering Assistant - Tea Gardens

About the role

The Great Aussie Bush Camp is looking for a motivated and reliable Catering Assistant to support its kitchen and dining operations at its Tea Gardens Centre. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and hands-on work in a busy kitchen, helping students, staff and guests feel welcome. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 3.30 pm to 7.30/8.00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
• Support meal service in a friendly and efficient way
• Maintain clean and welcoming dining areas
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils and equipment
• Help with setup, pack-down and resetting service areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and dietary requirements
• Work as part of a supportive, collaborative team

Required profile

• Experience in catering, hospitality or food service, or a willingness to learn
• Positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
• Good time management and attention to cleanliness
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Legal right to work in Australia
• Current (or willingness to obtain) Working with Children Check, including the Child Safety Commitment
