Category Manager - IT

About the role

BaptistCare is seeking an experienced Category Manager - IT to lead category management and strategic sourcing across technology-related expenditure. Reporting to the Principal Category Manager, you will provide commercial advice, lead IT sourcing and negotiations, manage supplier and contract performance and identify opportunities to improve value, service and risk outcomes. The role works closely with Technology and key business stakeholders to develop IT category strategies and lead end-to-end sourcing across software, hardware, telecommunications, managed services and technology services. It is a national role that can be based in NSW, WA, VIC or SA, with flexible work arrangements and occasional interstate travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead IT sourcing, technology supplier performance and commercial value
• Develop IT category strategies and lead end-to-end sourcing across software, hardware, telecommunications, managed services and technology services
• Manage strategic technology suppliers and monitor performance against KPIs and contractual commitments
• Identify opportunities for savings, efficiencies and continuous improvement
• Provide commercial advice and lead IT sourcing and negotiations

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Demonstrated category management, strategic sourcing or commercial management experience with strong exposure to IT and technology categories
• Experience developing IT category or sourcing strategies and leading complex technology sourcing and commercial negotiations
• Sound knowledge of IT commercial models, including software licensing, cloud or subscription services, managed services and technology vendor agreements
• Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel interstate as required
• Highly regarded: professional procurement qualification such as CIPS or equivalent; experience in aged care, healthcare, community services, not-for-profit or another regulated environment; experience with procurement, contract management, IT asset or software licensing, spend analytics or supplier management systems; knowledge of responsible, ethical and sustainable procurement practices
