Casual Training Analyst

About the role

The Casual Training Analyst supports Cubic Defense’s training exercises by managing equipment, operating analysis stations, and assisting with after‑action reviews. This role works closely with Army Observer Trainers and engineering teams to ensure exercises run smoothly and lessons are captured.

Key responsibilities

• Issue, receive, and maintain equipment used during training exercises.
• Conduct operator maintenance and functional checks on the Mission System.
• Set up the Exercise Control Centre, accommodation, and After‑Action Review facilities.
• Provide pre‑exercise training for participants and operate an analysis station during exercises.
• Observe and analyse tactical events, supporting the production of multimedia AAR products.
• Collect, collate, and record training observations in the Defence lessons database.
• Assist in creating Take‑Home Packs summarising lessons learned.
• Support the refinement of standard operating procedures and assist engineering systems with SOP rationalisation.
• Help with equipment set‑up and pack‑up, and operate support vehicles up to medium rigid.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar training or analysis role.
• Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Industry security clearance.
• Familiarity with Army terminology and Combined Arms Training up to Combat Team level.
• Ability to work in a small, high‑performing team and travel to outdoor training sites.
• Strong interpersonal, time‑management, and written communication skills.
