Casual Stevedore - Port Adelaide

About the role

Aurizon Port Services is expanding its operations in Port Adelaide and is seeking multiple casual Stevedores to join the team. The work involves loading and discharging cargo, non-containerised goods and bulk products, using state-of-the-art equipment such as Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, reach stackers, front end loaders, skid steers, excavators, forklifts and light vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the loading and discharge of cargo, non-containerised cargo and bulk products
• Operate machinery including Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, reach stackers, front end loaders, skid steers, excavators, forklifts and light vehicles
• Drive vehicles on and off roll-on roll-off vessels
• Carry out shipboard and wharf duties, ship loading and other general duties
• Perform basic administrative duties including tally clerking
• Ensure adherence to loading and unloading schedules

Required profile

• Previous stevedoring knowledge and experience
• Experience in loading and unloading trains highly regarded
• Ability to obtain a Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC) is mandatory
• Holds, or can obtain, the C1 Mobile Harbour Crane, Ships crane, Reach stacker, Forklift and Dogman tickets
• Available to work at short notice, day, afternoon and night shifts and weekends as required, including up to 12-hour shifts
• Must be 18 years or older
• Successful applicants must pass pre-employment checks, including a medical
