Casual Stage Technicians

About the role

Crown Resorts is looking for passionate and reliable Stage Operators to join its Crown Live Theatre team on a casual basis. You will support staging, mechanist and fly operations across Crown Melbourne's theatre and entertainment venues, working alongside productions, concerts and live events so that shows are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support staging, mechanist and fly operations during productions, rehearsals, performances and live events.
• Perform technical show functions including Mechanist, Flyperson and Duty Technician duties.
• Assist with installing staging, scenery, fly systems, automation elements and production equipment.
• Support technical rehearsals, show changeovers, performance operations and pack downs.
• Follow staging plots, cue sheets, run sheets and technical documentation accurately.
• Maintain safe, organised backstage, workshop and storage areas.
• Work with production teams, technical departments and visiting crews, following venue procedures and safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience in theatre, staging, mechanist, live entertainment or event environments.
• Experience assisting with staging installations, fly systems, scenic operations or backstage technical delivery.
• Sound understanding of stage machinery, mechanist systems and fly operations.
• Strong teamwork, communication and reliability, with attention to detail and safe work practices.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a live performance environment and to follow staging instructions and cues.

Required skills

• Desirable: Working at Heights licence, EWP licence, forklift licence, test and tag qualification, manual driver's licence, dogging or rigging licence.
• Desirable: experience operating manual fly systems.
