Casual Registered Nurse

About the role

Port Curtis Medical Centre, a primary care practice in Gladstone, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its team on a casual basis. The nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical centre, working four days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Assist doctors with medical examinations and treatments
• Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the doctor
• Provide holistic nursing care, including wound care, health education and emotional support
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with relevant policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (RN applicants)
• Preferred to hold spirometry and DAS certificates, though not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to patient-centred care and a flexible, adaptable approach to a fast-paced environment
