Casual Hospitality Assistant

About the role

Bega Group is looking for a casual hospitality assistant for its Lagoon Street site in the Bega Valley Shire, the original site of Bega Cheese. The site produces cheddar cheese, string cheese and butter and operates a café and hospitality area. Weekend availability is required.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to daily front of house and café operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming visitor experience.
• Prepare and present high-quality café meals, catering and function offerings with consistent food quality and presentation.
• Manage and train team members, allocate tasks, assist with training and provide leadership during busy service periods.
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions, stock control, ordering and opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and workplace compliance, working with kitchen and front of house teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience in similar roles; a related qualification is highly regarded.
• Reliable, flexible and takes pride in their work.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• Customer-focused and able to lead during busy periods.

Required skills

• Understanding of food safety and safe food-handling practices.
• Cash handling and POS transactions.
