Casual Criminology Lecturer - Summer Term and Semester 1

About the role

Murdoch University's School of Law and Criminology is seeking expressions of interest from new and experienced casual academics to contribute to its Criminology programs during the Summer Term and Semester 1 teaching periods. The school welcomes people passionate about student learning who can teach undergraduate and postgraduate units across criminology and criminal justice disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops
• Provide online teaching and student engagement
• Mark and moderate assessments
• Offer student consultation and academic support
• Carry out other teaching-related activities linked to unit delivery

Teaching may be face-to-face at the Perth campus, fully online or blended, or offshore teaching support for programs delivered through the Singapore and Dubai partnerships. Commitments can range from occasional specialist engagements to more frequent casual teaching across a semester.

Required profile

• Normally at least an Honours degree in Criminology or a closely related discipline
• Relevant professional, industry or teaching experience
• Preference for a Master's or doctoral qualification, previous tertiary teaching experience, and/or current or recent experience in criminology, criminal justice, policing, corrections, government, policy or related sectors

Areas of expertise

• Contemporary criminological theory, policing, corrections, crime science, white collar and corporate crime, cybercrime and research methods
• Criminology, sociology, psychology, legal studies, criminal law, politics and public policy, or forensic and related disciplines
