Casual Cook - Aged Care Home

About the role

Bupa's Bellarine Lakes care home, located south-west of Melbourne near Geelong and the Surf Coast, is looking for a casual cook. The home has 108 beds across various care units and focuses on the health, lifestyle and well-being of its residents. The cook provides well-presented, nutritious meals in a home-like environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare well-balanced, nutritious meals for residents
• Liaise with residents, families and the care team so dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient running of kitchen and catering services
• Follow infection control and food safety procedures
• Handle kitchen administration such as stock taking and food quality assessment

Required profile

• Previous experience preparing and delivering meals in a similar setting
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to solve problems independently
