About the role
The Career Practitioner Teacher will work closely with school leadership and staff to embed career development across Coodanup College. The role involves designing engaging career education programs, guiding students from Years 7 to 12 in pathway planning, and delivering unbiased information about further education, training and employment opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate career education programs that align with the college’s Future Ready curriculum.
- Support individual students in planning academic and vocational pathways from Year 7 through Year 12.
- Maintain up‑to‑date, unbiased resources on careers, further study and training options.
- Oversee the delivery of the Future Ready Program and coordinate its integration with other learning areas.
- Build and sustain strong connections with industry partners, employers and training providers.
- Collaborate with teachers to embed career readiness concepts into classroom teaching.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of career programs.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with appropriate accreditation and a background in career guidance, vocational education or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience supporting diverse student cohorts in academic and career planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student wellbeing and equity.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a school community and lead program initiatives.
