Cafe Chef - Seniors Community

About the role

Anglicare is looking for a Cafe Chef to create exceptional dining experiences for residents, visitors and guests within its Seniors Community. This is a casual opportunity based at Warriewood Village, with shifts likely on Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays. You will take end-to-end ownership of the cafe, including day-to-day operations and event support, working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals, cafe items and catering orders, and ensure food is served to a consistently high standard
• Support menu planning, seasonal menu updates and the planning and delivery of cafe services and functions
• Monitor food quality, storage, preparation and handling procedures, maintain stock levels and take part in stocktakes
• Maintain efficient kitchen operations and workflow
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents, visitors and guests and help promote cafe services
• Work with kitchen, hospitality and village teams to build a positive team culture
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in line with HACCP requirements, follow workplace health and safety policies and keep equipment and workstations safe

Required profile

• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent qualification
• 5+ years' experience in hospitality, catering or food service, including food preparation, kitchen operations and menu planning
• Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification and WWCC
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
• Strong spoken and written English
• Preferred: experience managing a food business or cafe, ordering, stock control and food cost management, Microsoft Office skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
