C++ Software Engineer

About the role

IMC is looking for a C++ Software Engineer to join its Sydney‑based execution development team. You will work on latency‑critical software that drives millions of trading decisions daily, collaborating with traders, researchers and quants.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, deploy and maintain high‑performance C++ applications for trading and hardware execution.
• Gather requirements, communicate with internal stakeholders and deliver automation solutions.
• Handle internal client requests, translating business needs into reliable software.
• Balance latency, throughput, scalability and maintainability in a complex technology stack.

Required profile

• Strong programming skills in modern C++ (latest standards preferred).
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Experience gathering business requirements and delivering solutions quickly.
• Ability to work independently on greenfield projects and take full ownership.
• High flexibility, adaptability and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn; prior trading knowledge not required.
