C-130J Simulator Pilot Instructor

About the role

CAE is recruiting a Simulator Pilot Instructor for the C-130J program in Richmond. The role reports to the C-130J Key Account Manager and to the C-130J Lead Instructor, and covers training, administrative and subject-matter expertise support for C-130J pilot initial qualification, secondary upgrade and currency courses. It also involves liaising with other resident instructional staff at CAE and at 37 Squadron.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, assess, maintain and evaluate training and assessment materials, including classroom and simulator training
• Support the C-130J Lead Instructor on aviation safety management issues related to the training platform
• Contribute to internal CAE business initiatives as directed by the Lead Instructor

Required profile

• Qualifications and experience sufficient to be authorised by the Commanding Officer of RAAF Central Flying School as a competent Simulator Pilot Instructor
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or recognised equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years as a Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor in an aircrew training environment, or 1000 command hours on multi-engine, multi-crew tactical transport aircraft such as the C-27J or C-130J
• Completed or able to complete ground training segments of the C-130J Pilot Conversion Course
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Defence Security Clearance

Desirable criteria

• Previous Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor experience on the C-130J
• Military or civil flying instructor rating with at least 200 hours in airborne instruction and training
• Experience as a flight simulator instructor
