Business Services Manager – Accounting & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a Business Services Manager to join a nationally recognised Top 8 accounting and advisory firm in Newcastle. You will own a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, SMEs and construction businesses while working closely with partners on strategic advisory projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage SME and privately owned business clients across diverse industries.
• Provide trusted advice on tax, business structuring and commercial matters.
• Review financial statements and tax returns for various entity types.
• Lead, mentor and develop senior and intermediate accountants.
• Collaborate with partners on advisory engagements, workflow planning and client strategy.
• Contribute to the growth and culture of the Newcastle office through leadership and coaching.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong business services experience within Australian public practice.
• Current manager experience, or an exceptional assistant manager ready for promotion.
• Excellent technical capability in tax and compliance with confidence in client‑facing advisory work.
• Collaborative leadership style and passion for developing people.
