Business Development Manager – HVAC Projects

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in its HVAC Retrofit Projects business across Sydney. You will identify, develop and secure major mechanical plant upgrade opportunities, working closely with building owners, consultants and internal technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a pipeline of HVAC retrofit and asset modernisation opportunities in the Sydney market.
• Develop tailored mechanical upgrade solutions that meet operational, financial, sustainability and tenant objectives.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract award and project hand‑over.
• Collaborate with engineering, estimating and operations teams to deliver compelling customer solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, preferably in projects, service, operations, engineering or project delivery.
• Proven success in business development, account growth or project sales with a strong network in Sydney’s building services sector.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, able to develop customer‑focused business cases.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
