Business Development Manager – Applied (HVAC/Chillers)

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within its Applied Solutions business, focusing on HVAC and chiller systems. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will expand market presence, influence project specifications, and deliver sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
• Identify, pursue, and secure profitable new business opportunities across the territory.
• Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, owners, government agencies and developers.
• Influence project specifications to include Johnson Controls Applied products and solutions.
• Lead preparation and submission of sales proposals, tenders and commercial submissions.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurate forecasting through Salesforce.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of sales experience, preferably in Applied HVAC, building solutions or related industries.
• Proven business development and hunting mindset with a track record of achieving sales targets.
• Strong consultative and solution‑selling capabilities.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Established industry network in the local market.
