Bookkeeper – Finance & Administration

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Bookkeeper to manage the day‑to‑day finance function for a family‑owned timber recycling business in Ipswich. Reporting to the General Manager, you will enjoy a collaborative environment with flexible working options.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Process weekly payroll using MYOB.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and monthly journal entries.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Support cash‑flow management and overall financial administration.
• Assist with insurance administration, claims handling, and asset updates.
• Respond to finance‑related enquiries and support general office operations.

Required profile

• Experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Accounts Officer.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, reconciliations, journals and general‑ledger processes.
• Confidence managing AP, AR and stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work in a hands‑on, blue‑collar environment alongside production teams.
• Reliability, proactivity and pride in delivering accurate work.
