Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Internal Systems team. You will design, develop and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and streamline business processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure automation workflows and API integrations.
• Build and optimise integrations with PSA/RMM platforms and business systems.
• Reduce manual effort by automating Microsoft 365, Intune, and other Microsoft services.
• Collaborate with the Head of Internal Systems, Business Analysts, service teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and maintain documentation and version control.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Automation Engineering, Systems Engineering or IT Administration.
• Background in a Managed Service Provider or IT services environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Advanced PowerShell scripting.
• Python development.
• REST and SOAP API experience, including webhooks, JSON/XML and HTTP methods.
• Automation of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Graph, Teams and Excel.
• Familiarity with Power Automate and Power BI (advantageous).
• Experience with ConnectWise, Kaseya, Autotask or similar PSA/RMM platforms.
• Exposure to NetSuite, HubSpot, EOS, PIA.ai (desirable).
• Version‑control tools such as Git or ITGlue.
