Audit Lead – Assurance & Compliance

About the role

The Audit Lead will join Container Exchange (COEX) to drive the organisation's assurance programme. Reporting to the Manager, Audit & Risk, you will coordinate scheme compliance reviews, internal audit activities and corrective‑action management, working closely with internal teams and external audit partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver COEX's Scheme Compliance Review programme.
• Conduct compliance reviews and site assurance activities to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Support the Internal Audit Plan in partnership with external audit providers.
• Manage audit planning, scheduling, document requests, evidence collection and stakeholder communications.
• Maintain audit schedules, working papers, assurance records and reporting dashboards.
• Administer corrective‑action registers and monitor remediation progress.
• Prepare audit, assurance and corrective‑action reports for management and governance forums.
• Support Audit & Risk Committee papers and assurance reporting packs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies, templates and procedures.

Required profile

• Professional experience in audit, assurance or compliance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify risks and control weaknesses.
• Experience managing corrective‑action processes and remediation tracking.
• Familiarity with audit planning, evidence collection and reporting.
