Assurance Manager – Personal Channels (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Personal Channels Assurance Manager provides independent first‑line assurance across the Personal Channels portfolio, helping to ensure that customer, regulatory, operational and risk obligations are effectively managed. The role works closely with business leaders, risk teams and assurance stakeholders to improve customer outcomes, strengthen risk management and sustain control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a risk‑based assurance plan covering key Personal Channel processes, controls and customer journeys.
• Lead assurance reviews, assess design and effectiveness of controls, and identify gaps, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based findings and practical recommendations within agreed timeframes.
• Provide independent challenge to risk management practices and identify thematic issues, root causes and systemic risks.
• Monitor remediation actions and support uplift activities to strengthen operational resilience, compliance and customer outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships with business, risk, compliance and assurance stakeholders.
• Prepare high‑quality assurance reports, management summaries and executive insights for governance forums.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in assurance, risk management or internal audit within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical ability to assess control design, identify weaknesses and propose actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to produce concise reports and present insights to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units and influence outcomes.
