Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in AI, Machine Learning & Data Science

About the role

Curtin University’s School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences is seeking an emerging academic to join as an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer. The role combines high‑quality teaching, impactful research, and industry engagement in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver student‑centred teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in AI, ML and Data Science.
• Design, develop and continuously improve curriculum, learning resources and assessments.
• Supervise honours and postgraduate research projects and contribute to unit coordination.
• Develop an independent research profile, publish in reputable journals and conferences, and secure external research funding.
• Collaborate with industry partners and professional bodies to enhance research impact.
• Participate in academic governance, service activities and community outreach.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct high‑quality research and publish in refereed venues.
• Experience or strong interest in teaching at university level.
• Commitment to inclusive and collaborative academic environments.
