Associate Engineer – Dams & Hydropower

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review dam engineering design and analysis activities.
• Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations, technical standards and SMEC quality requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex project outcomes.
• Support project delivery through effective planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to client relationship management and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across dam and hydropower projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in dam engineering, including embankment, CFRD and concrete dam projects.
• Proven experience delivering complex dams, hydropower, water or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, coordination, risk management and client engagement.
• Commercial awareness of project budgets, schedules and delivery outcomes.
• Experience with dam safety and risk assessments (highly regarded).
• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor project teams.
