Associate Director – Markets NFR Balance Sheet

About the role

The Associate Director, Markets NFR Balance Sheet will lead the management of non‑financial risk across ANZ's Global Balance Sheet and Australia Markets business. Working closely with the Markets Non‑Financial Risk team, the role ensures that risk and control frameworks align with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations, providing data‑driven insights to support sound decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Drive non‑financial risk governance and oversight in line with enterprise risk management standards and regulatory obligations.
• Design and implement divisional governance artefacts such as attestations, aggregated risk profiles, risk reviews and issue registers.
• Support the governance and oversight of thematic reviews and internal audits conducted by second and third lines of defence.
• Provide actionable, data‑driven insights across the end‑to‑end customer journey to inform decision‑making and governance.
• Oversee escalations and ensure timely resolution of key risk or governance issues, escalating to the Director when required.
• Coordinate with enterprise and divisional stakeholders to maintain consistent risk reporting and governance processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in non‑financial risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with a focus on delivering data‑driven insights.
