Associate Director – Cost Management (Defence & Infrastructure)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Associate Director to lead cost management commissions on medium to large, complex construction projects within the defence and infrastructure sector. You will act as the primary client interface, ensuring project objectives are met and expectations exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end cost management commissions on complex construction projects.
• Manage tendering and procurement processes from pre‑qualification through contract award.
• Provide post‑contract cost control, including valuations, change management and reporting.
• Produce feasibility studies, cost plans, procurement strategies and tender documentation.
• Mentor and manage cost management team members to foster high performance.
• Contribute to business development through client engagement and bid support.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with Baseline clearance (or UK citizen with current UK Security Clearance).
• Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• MRICS and/or AIQS accreditation with 10–15 years of consultancy experience.
• Proven experience leading cost management commissions on complex projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
• People management experience in a project or consultancy environment.
