Assistant Site Manager – Roma West

About the role

As the Assistant Site Manager at GrainCorp’s Roma West facility, you will work closely with the Site Manager and a dedicated team of permanent Grain Handlers. You will help ensure safe, efficient receipt, storage and outloading of grain by road and rail, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and seasonal peaks.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow of the grain handling team.
• Assist in attracting, selecting, training and developing permanent and casual staff.
• Maintain relationships with growers, customers, community groups and internal stakeholders.
• Support resource planning for grain receival and outload activities during peak and off‑peak periods.
• Plan and execute scheduled and ad‑hoc maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality activities, and produce related reports.
• Supervise a large seasonal workforce across multiple sites during harvest intake periods.

Required profile

• Plant operations experience in any industry with a strong safety mindset.
• Demonstrated ability or potential to lead and supervise teams.
• Previous grain handling experience is preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced operational environment.
