Assistant Production Manager

About the role

Babcock is looking for an Assistant Production Manager to support the Production Manager with maintenance activities, including urgent defects on contracted defence platforms. You will also lead subcontractor coordinators and drive process improvements that ensure quality assurance for production. This is a fixed-term position reporting to the Production Manager, based at the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson and on Garden Island, WA, with the possibility of permanency.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager with maintenance activities, including urgent defects on contracted defence platforms
• Manage the performance of subcontractors
• Provide leadership to the Subcontractor Coordinators
• Initiate process improvements to ensure quality assurance for production

Required profile

• Experienced maintenance management professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Project management experience and the ability to build and retain a highly motivated technical team
• Ideally significant experience in a large marine engineering or construction project environment
• Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
• Current Australian driver's licence
