Assistant Manager / Supervisor – Business Services (Accounting)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established accounting and advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join their Business Services team on the Sunshine Coast. The role is ideal for a senior accountant ready to step into a leadership position or an existing assistant manager looking for a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business clients across various industries
• Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns
• Provide taxation and business advice to clients
• Review compliance work completed by junior and intermediate accountants
• Oversee BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other compliance obligations
• Respond to client queries and ATO correspondence
• Manage workflow, budgets and deadlines across client portfolio
• Support, mentor and develop junior team members
• Assist with technical training and quality control processes
• Contribute to ongoing improvements across systems and procedures

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification
• Based in Sunshine Coast
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Australian public practice
• Strong technical knowledge of taxation and business services
• Experience reviewing work and guiding junior staff
• Well‑developed communication and client relationship skills
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities
• Collaborative and professional approach to client service
