Assistant Manager – Hospitality Leader for a Country‑Style Pub

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to help keep the Macquarie Inn buzzing and loved by locals and visitors. This hands‑on position supports the Publican in running the pub smoothly, safely and with a great vibe.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with regulars so they feel like part of the crew.
• Support the Publican in daily operations, ensuring safety, service quality and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff, handling issues before they become problems.
• Assist with stock handling, moving kegs and deliveries as part of regular duties.

Required profile

• Experience working in a bar, bistro or gaming room, with some supervisory exposure.
• Confidence and people‑skills to represent the pub when the manager is away.
• Current RSA, RCG and ARCG certifications as required by state regulations.

Required skills

• Ability to perform manual handling and lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
