Assistant Manager - Business & Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG Australia's Business & Tax Advisory team in Sydney is recruiting an Assistant Manager to join its Business Services & Tax Advisory team. The team advises private businesses, start-ups, family groups and listed companies on tax and accounting matters, and the role sits within the Mid-Market & Private practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax and accounting advice and solutions to a diverse portfolio including small to medium-sized entities, family and privately owned businesses, trusts and partnerships, foreign subsidiaries and small listed entities.
• Build technical expertise across tax and accounting compliance and business/tax advisory work for middle-market clients.
• Take a key role across client engagements, including regular client contact and attending client presentations and meetings with senior leaders.
• Mentor less experienced team members and encourage their professional development.

Required profile

• 2 to 5 years of post-graduate advisory experience in an accounting firm specializing in Australian tax and accounting services.
• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent from an Australian institution.
• Experience preparing financial statements, BAS and income tax returns for all entity types.
• Knowledge of common structures and corporate groups, with the ability to manage compliance with Division 7A and trust distributions.
• Mid-way through or having completed the CA / CPA program.
